Mixed results
Some areas great, some not so much. Not sure what I did differently. The flat sections are perfect but the sloped area needed extra coats.

Every Concern Answered
Does mulch glue actually hold, and how strong is the bond?
Yes. Lockscape RTU penetrates between mulch pieces and bonds from the inside out. Two coats create a hold that stands up to rain, wind, washout, and regular yard use without shifting.
How long does it last?
Up to 6 to 12 months per application. In areas with heavy rain, strong sun, or steep slopes, a light touch-up coat may be needed sooner to maintain full locking strength.
Does it dry clear?
Yes, completely clear. It looks slightly milky during application so you can track coverage, then dries within 24 hours leaving a soft, natural shine with no film or residue.
Is it water-permeable, and will it affect drainage?
It creates a flexible bond, not a solid seal. Rain, irrigation, and runoff pass straight through to the roots and soil below with zero pooling or drainage problems.
Is it safe for pets, kids, plants, and soil?
Yes. Zero VOCs, zero toxins, and completely non-toxic once cured. Safe for pets, children, vegetable gardens, tree rings, and any planted bed once the 24-hour cure window is complete.
Will it clog my sprayer?
No. The formula flows smoothly and won't block your nozzle when used correctly. Use a standard pump sprayer and rinse it with warm soapy water immediately after finishing your application.
What surface prep is required, and how many coats should I apply?
Clear the area of debris, make sure mulch is dry, and check the rain forecast before starting. Apply two even coats for the best hold. One gallon covers up to 150 square feet per coat.
How long does it take to dry?
Lockscape RTU cures in approximately 24 hours under normal conditions. Keep the treated area completely dry during the full cure window for the strongest, longest-lasting bond.
Does it work on slopes and high-traffic areas?
Yes. It is specifically designed for runoff-prone spots like slopes, downspout areas, and pathway borders. Once fully cured, it holds through heavy rain and regular foot traffic without breaking down.
